Canyoning
Canyoning Adventures In Bosnia And Herzegovina
Canyoning is an extraordinary adventure activity that involves passing through narrow canyons by a combination of activities such as walking, scrambling, climbing, abseiling (rappelling), and swimming. Canyoning season in usually starts in June and ends in October (depends on water level). The environments can be cold and abrasive so usualy you must use neoprene wetsuits ,specialized shoes ,harnesses, helmets, buoyancy aids and ropes.
In addition to the many beautiful places in Sutjeska National Park there is also a hidden canyon of the Hrčavka River. It has been only recently researched but already very popular because of the harsh beauty of the canyon as well as many incredible waterfalls, cascades and pools that the river shaped in this canyon. The canyon has two sections for canyoning, the first being ideal and adapted to almost everyone who knows the basic swimming skills and is ready for an adventure of 2.5h to 3.5h in unspoiled nature. The second part is long and demanding, for all those who are ready to spend up to 6 hours in the canyon and feel all the magic of the canyoning. It is very important to know your boundaries because, primarily, any route you choose you are here to enjoy and experience the adventurous spirit of exploration and connectivity with nature.
We also guding tours in Nevidio Canyon (Komarnica River) Durmitor National Park, the difference is in the obstacles, in Nevidio canyon they are mostly based on jumps and swimming in the deep crystal clear pools, while in Hrcavka canyon we have a mix of all these and more rope techniques.

The operators were super welcoming and helpful.
Above all, I thought it was great that things were so honest and warm here.
The atmosphere was great but the food was even better. Simple, but so delicious!
All ingredients are regional and local.
We found it absurdly delicious, but the chef assured us his only secret was the right amount of salt. So it must have been the ingredients.
We'll definitely be back!
They know the sutjeska national park perfectly and give super nice advice to go hiking and do other activities in the region.
Cherry on top was the awesome videos taken from the GoPro that we got for free after the rafting trip!
