Canoeing On Tara River
Explore the Tara River in a different and more intimate way in our canoe for wild water. Canoeing on the river Tara will give you a lot of fun and challenges as you steer canoe by yourself. Of course, with the detailed instructions of your guide who keeps track of you all the time and navigate you in another raft and is in charge of your safety. Previous experience is not necessary because canoe (inflatable kayak) is very stable, designed for two people and as easy as possible to steer.
Best Time of year for canoeing on the river Tara
Canoeing is most often enjoyed in comfortable weather, so it is best to head to the gorge in the summer and the months that bookend it.
If you are looking for a little more excitement and you want to be the captain of your boat then canoeing on the river Tara is great adventure for you. A minimum of 5 participants is required.
On Canoeing Tara
Arriving at our base camp Tara 87 in the morning hours (till 10am), you will be welcomed with a homemade breakfast and getting to know the guides and borrowing equipment. All canoeing participants must receive all professional rafting equipment: helmet, vest, neoprene suit, neoprene boots and paddle.
After that, a short trip with our vehicles (40min) to the Tara canyon place Brstanovica, where the tour begins. The guide will introduce you to a safety briefing with all you need to know about canoeing, rowing techniques and swimming in wild waters. Your adventure begins there, in the first 1-2 km you practice and learning techniques of rowing and maneuvering canoe, then following your guide you overcome rapids one after the other. In a section of 18km you will meet with over 20 wild rapids, we will make two breaks at magical places created for swimming, and for those more daring place to jump from the cliffs into the deep and beautiful turquoise green color of the river. Canoeing with breaks lasts 3-4 hours, and the last 2km are on the Drina River, which originates from the Tara River and the Piva River. We are finishing on the bank of the Drina River, where our base camp is located. Then we have a nice domestic lunch in the natural ambience of the camp and your arrangement ends.
